Blog 7 (NL - ING)

Even voor de leuk, heb ik een lijstje samengesteld met allerlei dingen/uitspraken/gewoonten/etc. wat mij opgevallen is in dit land sinds dat ik hier ben. Including pictures!

- de straten in de dorpen zijn allemaal toegankelijk voor auto's. Er rijden dan ook auto's door het hele dorp, inclusief het centrum.

- de straten in de dorpen zijn super smal, hebben hele scherpe bochten en het is bijna onmogelijk om een parkeerplaats te vinden in het dorp. Daarnaast is er heel veel hoogteverschil in de calle's (straten) om het rijden nog moeilijker te maken.

- alle huizen hier zijn heel groot en luxe. Ook heeft bijna elk huis een poort/hek voor de voortuin, zodat de mensen niet naar binnen kunnen kijken.

- er zijn hier bijzonder veel pub's van 'AMSTEL bier', het is dan ook erg populair onder de bevolking, tenminste in mijn hometown.

- er zijn hier bijna overal palmbomen te vinden, ook in mijn woonwijk tussen de huizen bijvoorbeeld.

- de straatnaambordjes zijn vaak feestelijk versierd om zo de naam van de straat op te laten vallen.

- er lopen hier heel, heel, heel veel zwerfkatten rond op straat. En ze zijn allemaal heel erg wantrouwig.

- er zijn hier een heleboel auto's wit, waarschijnlijk om de warmte te weerkaatsen en de auto niet te laten veranderen in een sauna.

- iedereen is hier erg open en de mensen gaan hier veel meer de straat op. Het buitenleven, naar buiten gaan, is hier veel meer dan in Nederland.

- tijdens het avondeten staat er altijd een bord met heerlijke Spaanse tomaten gefruit in de Spaanse olijfolie, en een schaaltje met pinda's.

- het gezamenlijk eten is heel belangrijk voor Spaanse families.

- als Spanjaarden iets niet bevalt of er zit ze iets dwars, zeggen ze het ook recht in het gezin van degene die iets negatiefs veroorzaakt.

- er groeien hier hele rare planten, en ik kan maar niet achterhalen wat het is. Zie foto! Weet jij het?

- alle films en series zijn nagesynchroniseerd, ondertiteling bestaat niet in Spanje.

Dat was even een lijstje in sneltreinvaart. Uiteindelijk hebben we besloten dat we vanavond naar het dorp gaan (lliria) om de stierengevechten te aanschouwen.. en ik ga misschien met een paar anderen de 'arena' in! (de plek waar de stier los loopt en je heel hard moet rennen) Of toch niet... to be continued..

Just for fun, I made a list of a lot of things/expressions/habits/etc. what i noticed in this country since my arrival here. Including pictures!

-          The streets in the small towns are all available for cars. There are driving cars through the whole town, including the centre!

-          The streets are usually really small, there are a lot of sharp curves and it’s almost impossible to find a place to park in the town. There is also a lot of difference in heights in the calle’s to make it even more difficult.

-          The houses here are very big and with a lot of luxery. Almost every house is protected by fences in front of the front garden to prevent that people look into the house/garden (well, i think that's the purpose)

-          There are a lot of pubs of ‘AMSTEL CERVEZA’. It’s actually quite popular here, at least in my hometown (look the picture that i added)

-          Almost everywhere are palmtrees, las palmeras, and you can also find them in my neighborhood: even between 2 houses.

-          The signs of the streetnames are often decorated nicely, to give the streetname an extra nice focus.

-          There are walking a loooooooot of homeless cats here. And they are all very distrusting.

-          There are a lot of white cars here, probably to NOT let the car change into a sauna when there’s a lot of sun.

-          The people here are so open and they like to go outside and do activities. There’s a lot more life outside, a lot more than in Holland.

-          During dinner there’s always a plate with tasty Spanish tomatos fruted in Spanish olive oil, and a small plate with tasty pindas.

-          Eating together is a very imporant moment for Spanish families

-          If Spanish people want to say something, something what’s bothering them for example, they just say it: right in the face of the person who’s causing the problem.

-          There are a lot of strange plants here and I seriously don’t know what i’m seeing sometimes: look at the picture(s) that I added, do you know what’s this?

-          All movies and series are synchronized, subtitels don’t exsist in Spain.

And that was my little list for now. Finally we decided to go to the town tonight, Llíria, to see the bulls. Maybe I’ll go to the plaza mayor where the bulls are. The place were the bulls are running and you have to run too when the bull comes close to you! Or maybe i won’t go standing in the main square…. To be continued…
